Vidlin is a picturesque village with plenty of wildlife to view - otters, seals and birds.
Hill walking is easy with many routes to choose from, and the varied coastline is an explorer's paradise.
Sea angling can be arranged locally and there are numerous lochs for trout fishing (permits can be obtained from the Visitor Information Centre in Lerwick).
Nearby is Lunna, the original operational base for the Norwegian resistance movement during World War II, known as the 'Shetland Bus'.
Lunna Kirk was built in 1753 and is the oldest church in Shetland still in use - and well worth a visit.
